The California International Marathon (CIM) is a marathon organized by runners, for runners!  CIM was founded in 1983 by the Sacramento Running Association (SRA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  The SRA Board of Directors is comprised of runners with a combined total of 150+ years of service to the CIM.

The same route SRA management created for the 1983 inaugural CIM will take you through rural countryside, then through the towns of Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks and Carmichael and finally, under a canopy of trees in full fall colors, into the city of Sacramento for the State Capitol finish.  Even though the course has remained the same, the race has grown into a true international event.

California International Marathon Relay Challenge – begins promptly at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2017, near the Folsom Dam in Folsom. The scenic 26-mile, 385-yard course runs from Folsom Dam to the State Capitol in Sacramento. – Starts from Auburn Folsom Road to 9th Street (near Capital Mall)

How will your dollars support ACFP and our Kids?

Your dollars will go directly back into the free services provided to the whole family with emphasis on the ACFP kids.

For Kids’ Sake – ACFP trauma informed play care for all kids while their moms are in counseling and educational programs.

Next Generations – ACFP trauma informed pre-school that provides a safe place for counselors and teachers to intervene on the harmful environment which a child is exposed. Children living in abusive environments are at greater risk for brain damage and developmental impact.

Smart and Strong – ACFP program that teaches young girls how to be smart and strong. Teaching our youth about self-awareness and self-defense skills.

JDEP – ACFP Juvenile Diversion Educational Program partners ACFP with Law Enforcement and re-routes troubled teens from group-homes or juvenile hall to ACFP and the JDEP program where they along with a parent are educated on violence and new parenting and communication techniques introduced to create a health foundation for growth, communication, hope and love to grow.

Foster Grandparents – ACFP program that pairs grandmas and grandpas with a child from our For Kid’s Sake and Next Generations to love-on and rock babies. Many children exposed to abuse and trauma lack the nurturing and touch needed for healthy development.
